Customs clearance for import and export

We take care of customs procedures so your goods clear without unnecessary delays. Declarations, transit, classification and advice – in one place.

When trading with countries outside the European Union, customs clearance is a mandatory part of every shipment. We prepare and submit customs declarations, check documents and advise you how to avoid mistakes that would cost you time or money.

We can provide customs services on their own or as part of the transport we arrange for you.

What we arrange for you

  • Import declaration (IM)

Release for free circulation including duty and VAT calculation.

  • Export declaration (EX)

Export outside the EU and proof for VAT exemption.

  • T1 transit

Moving non-cleared goods across the EU to the place of clearance.

  • Tariff classification

Determining the correct HS / CN code, which sets the duty rate.

  • Origin of goods

Advice on preferential origin and documents that can reduce duty.

  • Customs advice

EORI, Incoterms, licences and permits – advice in advance.

When it makes sense

  • You import goods from outside the EU – for example from China, the USA, Turkey or the UK.
  • You export goods outside the EU and need proof of export.
  • You move non-cleared goods through several countries.
  • You are not sure about the HS code or the amount of duty.

How it works

  1. Send us the invoice, packing list, transport document and your EORI number.

  2. We check the documents, classify the goods and calculate duty and VAT.

  3. We submit the customs declaration and communicate with the customs office.

  4. Once the goods are released, we send you the documents and the goods continue to you.

Frequently asked questions

What is an EORI number and where do I get it?
EORI is an identification number for customs purposes that every company importing or exporting goods outside the EU needs. In Slovakia it is issued by the Financial Administration, in the Czech Republic by the Customs Administration.
When is T1 transit used?
T1 transit allows non-cleared goods to travel from the point of entry into the EU – for example the port of Hamburg – to a customs office near the consignee, where the goods are cleared.
Who pays customs duty and VAT on import?
Usually the importer, i.e. the consignee. If DDP was agreed, the seller pays duties and taxes. A VAT-registered importer can usually deduct import VAT if the conditions are met.
How is the duty amount determined?
By the HS / CN code of the goods, the customs value and the country of origin. For some countries a reduced or zero rate applies when preferential origin is proven.
