Reducing Our Environmental Footprint

Transport emissions depend on more than distance. What matters is the mode of transport, how full the vehicle or container is, and the number of transshipments. That is why we compare the options for every shipment and propose a route with as few extra journeys as possible.

Our commitment extends beyond compliance to proactive environmental leadership in the logistics industry.

Key Sustainability Initiatives

Rail and intermodal transport

For larger volumes and longer routes we combine rail and truck. On a long haul, a train uses less energy per tonne of cargo than a truck.

Shipment consolidation

We combine smaller shipments into one container or vehicle. A full container means fewer journeys for the same volume of goods.

Route and carrier selection

We compare ports, routes and carriers. A direct route with fewer transshipments means less risk of delay and lower fuel consumption.
